If you’re in the market for a luxury SUV, you’ve probably come across the Land Rover. There are plenty of others to choose from, but in our (somewhat biased) opinion, we still recommend the Land Rover brand. So, for your consideration, we’re comparing the Land Rover Discovery and the Discovery Sport models.
2017 Land Rover Discovery
Let’s start with the Discovery. The 8-Speed automatic transmission offers power and performance for city and off-road driving. It comes equipped with a 3.0L engine and 340 HP output. The Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control help to make the ride easy and controlled. And the 4 wheel drive leaves the worry of maneuverability behind.
Base starting price for the Discovery is $49,990.
2017 Land Rover Discovery Sport
The Discovery and Discovery Sport have plenty in common. However, the differences can sway your choice dramatically. The 9-Speed, 4-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine bring in the horse-power at 240. Hill Start Assist and Hill Descent Control arrive as before. The added benefit of Trailer Stability Assist is a nice touch for those who plan on transporting more than a car can carry. Terrain Response returns as well.
The base starting price comes in much less than the Discovery at $37,695.
Land Rover has outdone themselves again with both of these 2017 models. Making the decision for the next luxury SUV can be a difficult one. We think this helps make it a little easier which brand is an obvious choice.
